For the first time since 2006, Wales' Principality Stadium will host the Community Shield between Arsenal and Manchester City on Saturday, 16 August. The clash is moved because The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours til Dawn’ tour takes place at Wembley on the same day, forcing the annual match to play outside London for the third time since theAuthority’s reopening in 2007.

The Principality Stadium served as the venue for the Community Shield, FA Cup final and EFL Cup final from 2001‑2007 while Wembley was demolished and rebuilt. After its reopening, the new Wembley hosted its first FA Cup final in 2007. In 2012, Villa Park staged the Shield as Wembley hosted football at the Olympics, and in 2022 it moved to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium because Wembley hosted the Women’s European Championship final.

Other venues that have hosted the fixture include Stamford Bridge, Highbury, White Hart Lane, Old Trafford, Maine Road, The Den, Molineux and Filbert Street.
