Red Bull Racing plans to reintroduce its innovative rotating rear wing, nicknamed the ‘Macarena’ wing, at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix. Technical director Pierre Wache confirmed the team has addressed a mechanical issue discovered after Max Verstappen's crash at Silverstone. The upgrade, initially adopted at the Miami Grand Prix, was temporarily removed for the Belgian Grand Prix due to safety concerns following two incidents involving Verstappen.

Wache stated that the problem has been identified and fixed, and the team is working to ensure the wing is "bulletproof" before its return. The issue was reportedly related to the wing's actuator and has been discussed with the FIA. Verstappen, despite the wing's temporary absence, topped the first practice session at Spa-Francorchamps, though Wache noted ongoing work is needed on the car's balance and degradation.

Despite the challenges, Red Bull is committed to refining the rotating wing, which offers improved straight-line performance. The team aims for its safe and effective deployment at the Hungaroring circuit, signaling a continued push for aerodynamic innovation in the 2022 Formula 1 season.
