Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar will start the Belgian Grand Prix from the back of the grid after taking his fifth power unit of the 2026 season, exceeding the four-unit allowance. The penalty converts to a 22nd-place start since the grid drop exceeds 15 positions. Hadjar acknowledged his run of five consecutive top-six finishes since the Canadian Grand Prix will likely end, telling Canal+ the focus shifts to race pace at Spa, where overtaking is possible.

Team-mate Max Verstappen also installed a new V6, turbo and exhaust but remains penalty-free having used only two of each. Reigning champion Lando Norris joins Hadjar at the rear after fitting a fifth battery, while both McLaren drivers receive Mercedes' latest power electronics for improved reliability. Norris drops 10 places, with team-mate Oscar Piastri also taking the upgraded combustion engine.

Aston Martin's Lance Stroll incurs a 10-place drop for a new Honda MGU-K, likely lining up 21st alongside Hadjar given the team's current form. The penalties reshape the grid for a race where Spa's layout offers recovery opportunities.
