Verstappen backs McLaren junior Van Langendonck

Max Verstappen announced a partnership with Dries Van Langendonck, a McLaren junior, to guide him toward Formula 1. Verstappen said Van Langendonck will remain under McLaren while his own team will manage and coach him.

Verstappen Racing will oversee his management through Raymond Vermeulen, making Van Langendonck the first external driver represented by the camp. Verstappen compared the Belgian’s talent to his own at 15, stressing his exceptional potential.

The deal includes career guidance, financial backing, and coaching from Verstappen’s simulators in Tilburg. Natura. McLaren will also contribute budgets and help select teams in Formula 3 and Formula 2 to avoid missteps in junior categories.

Verstappen emphasised that each driver must find his own path, but his experience will guide Van Langendonck toward the ultimate goal of Formula 1.
