Formula 1 star Max Verstappen, 28, is returning to his karting roots for "Max vs 100," a unique event at Silverstone on Sept. 16 streamed live on Disney+, where he will attempt to overtake 100 drivers from the back of the grid.

Born in Belgium to former F1 driver Jos Verstappen and karting competitor Sophie, Verstappen began karting at four and won multiple world titles by 2013. He debuted in F1 at 17 with Toro Rosso in 2015, moving to Red Bull Racing a year later. Based in Milton Keynes, he signed a contract extension through 2030. Verstappen holds 71 race wins, 131 podiums, and four consecutive world championships (2021–2024). His 2023 season set records with 19 wins, 21 podiums, and 10 consecutive victories.

In the 2026 season, amid major regulation changes, Red Bull sits behind the frontrunners. Verstappen has four podiums but no wins, placing sixth in the championship, 130 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli. He recently competed in the Nürburgring 24 Hours driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3.
