Playoff Races & Player Milestones
Victor Wembanyama’s late-game heroics secured the San Antonio Spurs' return to the postseason for the first time in six years after he sank a go-ahead 17-foot fadeaway with 1.1 seconds remaining Thursday night. Elsewhere on the individual achievement front, LeBron James matched Robert Parish’s all-time benchmark by appearing in his 1,611th career game, a feat for which Parish stated James is entirely "deserving" of surpassing. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers managed a 115-110 victory over the Chicago Bulls despite star guard Donovan Mitchell sitting out due to a bruised left eye.
Injury Updates & Fantasy Implications
The Denver Nuggets' title defense faces a setback as Michael Porter Jr. is sidelined for an estimated two to three weeks with a strained left hamstring, potentially keeping their leading scorer unavailable for the remainder of the regular season. This injury news comes as fantasy managers grapple with roster decisions, particularly concerning established stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Mikal Bridges, while players like Luka Doncic continue to deliver elite performances, with Ayo Dosunmu and Daniss Jenkins also showing upward trends.
Offseason Speculation & League Tributes
Speculation surrounding a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade this summer is complicated by a rare ownership structure and existing financial turmoil, leaving interested teams uncertain about who holds ultimate decision-making power. In a moment of league celebration, the Charlotte Hornets honored franchise legend Dell Curry, who fought back tears as the team retired his No. 30 jersey during halftime ceremonies against the Orlando Magic. Separately, Hall of Fame basketball player Dennis Rodman is reportedly slated for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in recognition of his tenure during the WCW Monday night wars, according to sources familiar with the matter.
