LeBron James tied Robert Parish for the NBA's all-time games-played record, suiting up for his 1,611th career game against the Miami Heat. The Los Angeles Lakers star achieved the milestone in his 23rd season, playing through pain from arthritic foot issues after a cross-country flight. James had just delivered one of his best performances of the season, scoring 30 points on 13-for-14 shooting against Houston.

Hall of Famer Parish, who set the mark in 1996, praised James' dedication to fitness and longevity. 'If anyone is deserving of breaking the iron man record, I would say LeBron James is,' Parish told ESPN. The 41-year-old Boston Celtics legend noted that James' approach to nutrition and training mirrors his own philosophy from his playing days. Parish had predicted someone would eventually surpass his record, which stood for nearly 30 years.

Lakers coach JJ Redick credited James' 'competitive stamina' for his sustained excellence across more than two decades. 'His ability to put so much focus and intent into his day -- that's how you last,' Redick said. At 41, James continues to play at an All-Star level, averaging 21.4 points, 6.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds this season while leading the Lakers to a seven-game winning streak.
