LeBron James etched his name deeper into basketball history by passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most made field goals in NBA history. The Los Angeles Lakers star hit his 15,838th career basket with a turnaround baseline jumper over Denver's Zeke Nnaji in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Denver Nuggets.

This milestone adds to James' already historic career, coming nearly three years after he surpassed Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record of 38,388 points on February 7, 2023. The 39-year-old forward has since pushed his career point total beyond 43,000, showcasing his remarkable longevity and consistency. Lakers coach JJ Redick compared James' career to Bruce Springsteen's musical evolution, praising his ability to keep adding to his 'greatest hits' catalog.

James continues to chase other milestones, sitting just five games behind Robert Parish's record of 1,611 career games played. He could tie the mark on March 16 against Houston if he plays every remaining game on the Lakers' schedule. Earlier this season, James passed Michael Cooper for fifth on the Lakers' all-time assists list and joined Kobe Bryant as the only Lakers with 1,000 made 3-pointers.
