Starlink Roam 50GB Plan Doubled to 100GB

Starlink officially upgraded its Roam 50GB plan, now called Roam 100GB, doubling the monthly high-speed data allowance at no extra cost. The change went into effect on January 13, 2026. Once users exhaust the high-speed portion, their connection automatically shifts to unlimited low-speed data for the rest of the billing cycle, keeping basic services like email and texts active.

This move simplifies the mobile data offering by eliminating per-gigabyte overage purchases for most users. Starlink is clearly pushing customers toward its flat-rate Roam Unlimited tier for those needing continuous high bandwidth, especially for data-heavy tasks like streaming or video calls. The goal is to provide a predictable experience for travelers and remote workers.

Current availability for the new 100GB plan isn't universal. It is not offered in a specific list of markets, including parts of Africa, the Middle East, and some Pacific islands, where the original 50GB tier remains. For boaters, standard Roam covers coastal waters, but serious ocean travel requires the separate Ocean Mode, which is only available with the Unlimited plan and billed per GB.
