Hi HN! We're Akilan and Miguel, creators of MarbleOS. Our inspiration comes from GUI work at Xerox PARC, the 1984 Macintosh, and NeXTSTEP. Before GUIs, computers required memorizing terminal commands. The GUI made capabilities visible through pointing, dragging, and menus.

We feel AI remains at a command-line stage. Despite natural language replacing strict syntax, interaction still demands heavy recall. Tools like Claude Cowork resemble terminals: /skill-name [param1] [param2]. Users must know which capabilities exist, what files to attach, which tools to invoke, and how to phrase tasks.

ChatGPT excels at questions, but a blank text box and chat threads feel limiting when AI does actual work. Most capabilities and task structure stay invisible. Marble treats AI as a workspace, not a chat app. Each delegated task becomes a card; multiple jobs run simultaneously. Files, tools, and artifacts are visible. Before execution, Marble shows expected tools so users don't hold entire task structures in their heads. Results are usable files — spreadsheets, PDFs, slide decks — not buried transcripts.

We're not claiming the final form. Marble explores whether a better model exists than attaching more tools to a chat box. The beta is downloadable. 12 points on HN.
