Paxton Secures Victory Against Porn Site

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has achieved a significant legal victory, obtaining a court order to disable the domain name of the pornographic website motherless.com. The website's owner, Kick Online Entertainment, faced legal action after failing to implement measures to protect minors from its harmful content and ignoring previous court orders.

In April 2024, Paxton sued Kick Online for violating Texas's age-verification law. Despite a default judgment and permanent injunction, the company continued to distribute material accessible to minors. Consequently, Paxton secured a writ directing Verisign, the .com domain registry, to place motherless.com on a registry lock. Kick Online can only regain control of the domain by posting a $9.14 million bond and complying with Texas law and civil penalties.

Paxton stated that this order sets a precedent for stripping domains from non-compliant websites that harm children. The action demonstrates Texas's authority to hold foreign operators accountable, and the Attorney General's office will continue to pursue such measures to protect children from harmful online content.
