Cardboard AI Video Editor: Natural Language Editing Tool

Saksham and Ishan launched Cardboard, an AI-powered video editor that transforms raw footage into polished content through natural language commands. The YC W26 startup addresses a common pain point: creators spend hours manually scrubbing footage, arranging clips, and syncing audio when they'd rather focus on storytelling.

Built entirely in-browser using WebCodecs and WebGL2, Cardboard runs client-side without server rendering or plugins. The tool handles multi-track timelines with keyframe animations, beat synchronization via percussion detection, voiceover generation, and even exports to Premiere Pro and DaVinci formats. Users can simply type commands like "make a 60s recap" or "cut this into a 20s ad" to generate editable drafts.

The founders bring firsthand experience to the problem. Saksham creates content with 250K monthly views and constantly battled editing bottlenecks, while Ishan spent launch video production time on tedious cuts rather than narrative. Since November, they've shipped 13 updates adding features like multilingual captions that track subjects in frame and background removal.
