Three-time AL MVP Aaron Judge is headed back on the injured list with a right calf strain, and New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone isn't sure whether the slugger will return for the postseason. Judge was 4-for-23 with 13 strikeouts and one extra-base hit in seven games since returning from a broken rib that sidelined him for over three months. Utility man Max Schuemann will be recalled from Triple-A to take Judge's spot.

Three-time All-Star Cody Bellinger expressed frustration for Judge, noting how hard the 34-year-old has worked to return, but said the team has enough talent to weather the loss. Judge is hitting .241 with 18 homers and 41 RBIs in 66 games this season. The Yankees have clinched a playoff spot but trail the Tampa Bay Rays by four games in the AL East.

Boone reiterated that the team has enough offensive talent, citing Ben Rice's 38 homers and Bellinger's .276 average with 25 doubles, 16 homers, and 71 RBIs. The Yankees are 48-39 in games Judge has missed and 41-25 in games he has played.
