Following the release of macOS 27 Golden Gate and iOS 27, Ulysses was updated with Siri AI support, a refreshed interface, customizable toolbars, project templates, and more.

Ulysses adds support for Siri AI. My first Ulysses note dates back to December 2016. Since then, I’ve used the app on my Mac nearly every single day. Over the past 10 years, it’s been interesting to watch Ulysses evolve without losing what makes it great: a plain writing app with excellent Markdown support.

The update introduces Siri AI support (except for users in the EU), including onscreen awareness and a dedicated macOS toolbar button for writing, rewriting, proofreading, and otherwise working with text. Ulysses now lets users fully customize the toolbar, with navigation buttons, blocks, spaces, suggestions, and more. The update also includes new group icons and improves accessibility support.

Finally, in addition to visual tweaks that better match iOS 27 and macOS 27, the update adds project templates. When creating a new project, you can now select a template, so projects start with a couple of dummy groups and sheets. Ulysses is also available through Setapp.
