Beau Greaves has secured a third Women’s World Matchplay title, triumphing over Fallon Sherrock 6-5 in a tense final at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens. The top seed, after slipping a 5-3 lead, faced a 180 from Sherrock that pushed the pressure up, but Greaves answered with a maximum, a 145 set‑up and a 56 checkout to seal the win.

The 22‑year‑old described the relief of victory, noting the nerves and the privilege of such pressure. He highlighted his year‑long successണ്ഡ: in April he became the first woman to win a PDC ranking title by beating Michael Smith, and in February hit a nine‑dart finish against Mensur Suljovic.

In the semi‑final, Gemma Hayter forced a deciding leg, but Greaves’ 104 checkout secured a place in the final. Sherrock, who lost only one leg en route, defeated defending champion Lisa Ashton 5-1. For the third year, the inaugural title in 2022 still eludes Sherrock, making Greaves’ triumph a major milestone.
