Corey Perry is heading back to the Lightning after a trade from the Kings. The Red Wings acquired 15-year veteran defenseman Justin Faulk in a trade with the Blues. Nazem Kadri has been re-acquired by the Avalanche in a trade with the Flames, returning to Colorado where he won a Stanley Cup in 2022. Brayden Schenn was acquired by the Islanders from the Blues, sending Jonathan Drouin, two picks and a prospect back to St. Louis. The Maple Leafs dealt forward Bobby McMann to the Kraken and forward Scott Laughton to the Kings ahead of Friday's deadline.

Pittsburgh forward Evgeni Malkin has been suspended five games for slashing Buffalo defenseman Rasmus Dahlin during Thursday's game. Troy Murray, who played 12 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks and transitioned into becoming the team's long-time broadcasting analyst, has died at age.

The Seattle Kraken have signed captain Jordan Eberle to a two-year contract extension with an average annual value of $5.5 million.
