Boston Red Sox outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right quadriceps strain, the team announced Sunday before completing a 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles that capped a four-game sweep. The move is retroactive to Thursday.

To fill the roster spot, the Red Sox recalled infielder/outfielder Nate Eaton from Triple-A Worcester. Rafaela, batting .282 this season with 32 doubles, 3 triples, 16 home runs, and 70 RBIs, earned his first career All-Star selection in 2026.

Signed by Boston as an international free agent in July 2017, the Curaçao native has compiled a .258 average with 49 homers across 471 career big league games, all with the Red Sox.
