Coco Gauff saved two match points in a tiebreaker to defeat Mirra Andreeva 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-2 and advance to the US Open semifinals. Gauff will face Elena Rybakina in the semis, a matchup that guarantees the winner becomes world No. 1.

Reflecting on her victory, Gauff credited American Frances Tiafoe for inspiring her comeback, noting she thought of him during a set break after dropping the first set. Andreeva, the 19-year-old French Open champion, took the first set 26 minutes to 6-0. Gauff, the 2023 US Open champion, won a 39-shot rally to take a 5-3 lead in the tiebreaker before Andreeva sent a forehand long.

In the third set, Gauff dominated en route to her seventh Grand Slam semifinal. The top-ranked Sabalenka faces Jessica Pegula in the other semifinal. This marks the second time in Open era history all four women's seeds reached the US semis, last occurring in 1975.
