Ultrahuman's Ring Air gained atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection support in July 2024, and the Ring Pro, which launched in February this year, had it from the start. Today, Ultrahuman announced the Heart Scan feature, which builds on the AFib Power Plug. Heart Scan is powered by Fibri Check and lets eligible Ring Air and Ring Pro users run an on-demand heart rhythm check when they want, unlike the AFib screening that runs nightly in the background.
Heart Scan is part of the AFib Detection Power Plug, and users can start a scan from within the Ultrahuman app. Each scan takes 60 seconds, during which the user should keep still. The Ultrahuman Ring reads the signal and analyses it using Fibri Check's algorithm.
The results appear in the Ultrahuman app. It also generates a Fibri Check PDF report that includes the pulse recording captured during the scan, a tachogram, and a Lorenz plot of the intervals between beats. Ultrahuman states that a Heart Scan may return Regular, Possibly irregular, Possible atrial fibrillation, Signal quality too low, or Inconclusive.
It also says Fibri Check does not detect heart attacks or ischemic conditions, and a regular result does not rule out a heart rhythm condition. The Heart Scan feature requires Ultrahuman app version 4.3.0 for iOS and Android version 3.2.0.0. It's available in supported markets across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific for Ultrahuman Ring Air and Ring Pro users, with eligible Ring users able to access free scans from the Ultrahuman dashboard.
Nighttime screening is available via AFib Power Plug for £4.90/month or £49/year in the UK. Across the Eurozone, it costs €5.90/month or €49/year. If you don't already have an Ultrahuman Ring Pro or Ring Air, you can pick one up from the official online store at ultrahuman.com.
