OPPO Reno 16 Pro Review: Flagship Cameras in Compact Design

OPPO's Reno 16 Pro retains the compact 6.32-inch AMOLED and 200MP main camera from its predecessor, adding a striking 3D Pop Planet Design on the Pop White model. The 6,700mAh silicon-carbon battery (6,000mAh in Europe) delivers over a day of heavy use with 80W charging.

Powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8550, the phone handles daily tasks well but throttles during intensive gaming, falling short of the Xiaomi 17T Pro. The IP68/IP69K rating and vibrant OLED are highlights, though the fingerprint sensor sits too low.

Cameras remain the standout: the 200MP Samsung HP5 main sensor, 50MP telephoto (3.5x optical), and 50MP ultra-wide all produce flagship-quality results. New filters like Pop mode and AI Remix Collage add creative flair, with 4K60 video across all lenses.

After a price drop to £749 (€899) for 12GB/512GB, the Reno 16 Pro competes with the Galaxy S26+ and Xiaomi 17T. ColorOS 16 is polished, but OPPO's update commitment lags behind Samsung and Google. For photography-focused users wanting a compact phone, it's a compelling choice.
