Apple released iOS 27 beta 5 today, giving developer beta testers the next preview since iOS 27 debuted at WWDC. Developers can download it via Settings > General > Software Update under iOS 27 Developer Beta. As with any beta, we do not recommend installing on a primary iPhone without expecting performance issues, bugs, battery life differences, and app compatibility challenges.

New features in beta 5 include updated Safari, Siri, Remote, and Preview app icons, with further Liquid Glass refinements. Siri's enhanced voice now supports British English. The cellular network type no longer appears in Control Center on Wi-Fi. A new 'Before Search' section in Search Settings lets you toggle app suggestion count, shortcut suggestions, and recent searches.

Not every iOS 27 feature is available on every iPhone; the update supports iPhone 11 and later, while Siri AI and Apple Intelligence require newer hardware. Apple will continue beta testing throughout August, with the official release in September alongside the new iPhone lineup.
