Windrose Pirate Game Devs Ask Fans for Patience

Windrose, the co-op pirate survival game formerly known as Crosswind, has asked fans for patience after generating massive hype during Steam Next Fest. The game attracted over 22,000 concurrent players during its demo period and grew its Discord server to more than 20,000 members.

The development team behind Windrose explained that the game's ambitious scope makes it impossible to announce a realistic launch date. They revealed that the full Early Access version could be ten times larger than the demo, featuring ten times more islands, points of interest, ships, enemies, and crafting options.

In their announcement following the IGN Fan Fest trailer release, the developers emphasized their commitment to quality over speed, asking fans to "let us cook more" while promising to reveal a release date only when confident they can deliver without delays. The game combines crafting mechanics, high-seas adventures, and Souls-like combat in what appears to be an ambitious indie project.
