Thermal Grizzly Delidded Core Ultra 7 270K Plus Targets Overclockers

Thermal Grizzly is selling a delidded version of the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus for $525.33. Built on the Arrow Lake Refresh LGA1851 platform, this chip can match or beat the Core Ultra 9 285K when overclocked, while offering a stronger price-to-performance ratio. The delidded variant appeals to enthusiasts willing to sacrifice Intel's warranty for better thermal headroom.

Delidding removes the processor's heatspreader, exposing the die for direct-die cooling setups. Thermal Grizzly's staff handles the procedure, cleans and lightly sands the die for improved liquid metal adhesion, and runs a full functionality test. Buyers receive temperature screenshots and a microscope image on a USB drive included with the CPU, plus a company warranty beyond the standard seller warranty.

Roman "der8auer" Hartung demonstrated the performance gains with direct-die water cooling in his testing videos. The processor shows its best results when paired with a direct-die water block, liquid metal as the TIM, and a custom loop with ample radiator surface area. At $525.33, the TG Delidded Core Ultra 7 270K Plus gives overclockers a compelling Arrow Lake option without paying flagship pricing.
