At Computex 2026, Synology unveiled the next‑generation DiskStation Manager (DSM) that powers its NAS line. The new OS adds AI‑driven automation, workflow assistance and centralized management for SMBs and enterprise deployments. Crucially, all AI processing runs on‑premises, keeping data out of public clouds while still delivering smart features. The rollout targets customers upgrading from older DSM versions and buyers seeking AI capabilities without sacrificing compliance.

Synology refreshed its ActiveProtect suite with Manager 2.0 and the DP5200 appliance, expanding support for cloud and virtual environments and introducing AI‑powered threat and anomaly detection. The company also rolled out new surveillance hardware, including AI‑enhanced cameras and access‑control units, and upgraded DVA analytics for faster search and object tracking. They aim to cut reliance on external security services and lower IT costs.

The highlight for remote monitoring is Surveillance365, a hybrid cloud platform that lets administrators manage multiple sites without exposing footage to third‑party services. Synology also added consumer‑grade BeeStation Plus devices and a Deep Search feature that indexes video locally. This approach appeals to regulated industries needing data residency. By bundling AI with on‑site processing, Synology positions its ecosystem as a privacy‑first alternative to mainstream cloud solutions.
