Swissbit has unveiled its A2000 PCIe SSD series, targeting high-performance industrial applications requiring consistent throughput and low latency. The drives combine PCIe Gen 4 speeds with industrial design and advanced security features, addressing demanding workloads in edge AI, networking infrastructure, and medical imaging systems.

The A2000 series uses in-house packaged Bi CS8 3D TLC NAND with an eight-channel DRAM-based controller architecture. Two variants serve different needs: the A2000 handles mixed workloads with up to 0.5 drive writes per day, while the A2200 targets write-intensive applications with over 1 drive write per day endurance. Both deliver over 6 GB/s sequential read performance.

Security features include AES-256 encryption, TCG Opal 2.0 support, and secure boot capabilities. Hardware power-loss protection safeguards data without OS dependency, and lifetime monitoring enables preventive maintenance. Available initially in M.2 2280 form factor from 480 GB to 4 TB, with E1.S and U.2 options coming later this year.

According to Christoph Beckenbauer, General Manager Memory Solutions at Swissbit, the A2000 family fills a gap in their PCIe portfolio by offering sustained write performance and enterprise-class features specifically designed for industrial environments where reliability cannot be compromised.
