Valve has released Windows drivers for its Steam Machine console, allowing users to install 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. This move enables owners to move away from the pre-installed Steam OS, offering a more familiar computing environment.

The driver package includes support for graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and the memory card reader. Notably, the graphics driver is not derived from AMD's standard Adrenalin software, as the Steam Machine uses a semi-custom AMD SoC. The console does not support dual-booting, meaning users must choose between Steam OS and Windows.

With Windows installed, users can download the Steam application and utilize its Big Picture mode, replicating the Steam OS interface. This development provides Steam Machine owners with greater flexibility, potentially expanding the console's appeal beyond its original Linux-based operating system.
