SK hynix Inc. and NVIDIA have announced a multi-year technology partnership focused on developing next-generation memory solutions for AI factories. The agreement builds on years of co-engineering work that has already powered advanced AI computing platforms. SK hynix will supply memory for NVIDIA's upcoming Vera Rubin AI supercomputers, Vera CPUs, RTX Spark PCs, and Jetson Thor robotic platforms.

The collaboration extends beyond just hardware. SK hynix is leveraging NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and the PhysicsNeMo framework to accelerate semiconductor simulation workflows, including computational lithography and electronic design automation. This marks a shift toward using AI to improve chip design and manufacturing processes themselves, potentially reducing development cycles for advanced memory technologies.

Both companies are developing fab digital twins using NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and OpenUSD pipelines to create 3D factory environments. These digital replicas will help optimize semiconductor manufacturing by simulating autonomous mobile robot movements and other production assets. The partnership also explores connecting digital twins with existing legacy software and agentic AI workflows.

The move positions SK hynix to diversify into new markets NVIDIA is creating, including AI infrastructure, personal AI, and physical AI applications. This strategic alignment ensures memory supply keeps pace with NVIDIA's infrastructure roadmap as AI factories scale globally, strengthening both companies' positions in the expanding AI hardware market.
