Indie studio Shiro Games is set to drop its open‑world space sim SpaceCraft on Steam Early Access on May 20. The title blends co‑op survival, planetary exploration and modular base‑building, letting crews harvest resources, research tech and construct ships or outposts across multiple star systems.

A demo run earlier this year attracted over 70,000 participants and generated 300,000 wishlists by its close, signalling strong interest in a genre that merges colony logistics with classic sci‑fi exploration. Players will manage automation pipelines, set up multiple outposts, and toggle between mining, production and research without leaving their ship.

System requirements stay modest: an Intel Core i3‑8350K, 8 GB RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1060 satisfy the game’s needs, earning a Platinum rating on ProtonDB. That hardware envelope means SpaceCraft should run comfortably on handhelds such as the Valve Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go and ASUS ROG Ally, expanding its potential audience.

By positioning itself alongside Triple‑I Initiative’s Windrose, Shiro Games aims to capture co‑op players craving both narrative depth and sandbox freedom. With Early Access pricing expected to be consumer‑friendly, the title promises a playable, expandable experience that could set a new benchmark for indie multiplayer space sims.
