PC Component Prices Set to Rise 6-10%

The PC hardware market faces another wave of price increases, following recent hikes in DRAM and GPUs. Guangzhou Xinhongzheng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd, a major electronics manufacturer in China, has issued notifications regarding upcoming cost adjustments. According to reports, power supply units (PSUs) are expected to increase by 6-10%, while CPU coolers may see a 6-8% rise. These hikes are attributed to rising costs of essential raw materials like copper, silver, and tin.

The manufacturer advises customers to secure inventory in January before promotional pricing ends in February. Currently, nearly 90% of products are discounted, suggesting a sharp transition to full retail pricing with higher markups. The implications extend to system builders and consumers, who may face significantly higher costs for essential PC components.

The situation is compounded by high demand for copper in AI data centers and industrial sectors. While the claims await third-party verification, the potential for a massive supply chain price hike in the coming weeks remains high.
