Other World Computing (OWC), a leader in high-performance storage, memory, connectivity, software, and accessories, today announced the general availability (GA) launch of OWC Dock Ejector 2.1 software for Mac and PC. The update adds one-click safe ejection for all connected data volumes, helping users avoid data corruption or loss before disconnecting from a dock.
The software can safely eject Soft RAID, Apple RAID, and other non-RAID volumes, including camera cards, without requiring users to locate and eject each volume individually. This is especially useful for Ex FAT and FAT32 media commonly used with camera cards and in cross-platform creative workflows, where improper unmounting carries a higher risk.
On Mac, Dock Ejector 2.1 also automatically enables supported OWC dock USB ports for higher-power operation recognized by macOS. Compatible devices, such as the Apple SuperDrive and mobile devices, can access the additional power they need for proper operation or faster charging, without changing macOS security settings.
OWC Dock Ejector 2.1 is available free from OWC.com and, for the first time, through the Apple App Store. OWC docks remain fully functional without the software, which adds convenience, data protection, and capability for users.
