Microsoft launched the Surface Laptop Ultra, targeting demanding creators and developers who need desktop-level performance in a portable form. The company partnered with NVIDIA to build a machine specifically for AI workloads, 3D rendering, and complex development tasks that standard laptops struggle to handle.

Surface Laptop Ultra packs an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 128 GB of unified memory and full CUDA support. This configuration delivers 1 petaflop of AI compute and can run models up to 120B parameters locally, eliminating the need for cloud-based processing for many workflows.

The 15-inch mini-LED display hits 2,000 nits peak HDR brightness with 262 pixels per inch and high color accuracy. Microsoft included a large haptic touchpad and essential ports like HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, and SD card. Engineers designed the chassis from the inside out, balancing thermal management, acoustics, and durability.

Available later this year in Platinum and Nightfall finishes, the device targets professionals who push hardware limits daily. Microsoft's approach reflects growing demand for local AI processing capabilities among developers and creative professionals building next-generation applications.
