When Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched towards the end of July 2026, online spaces were littered with complaints about everything from PlayStation's online services crashing to PC performance issues affecting both high-end and aging hardware. Following these complaints, PlayStation and Arc System Works have issued an update that they claim has corrected those issues.

The August 10 update on Steam reduced CPU usage with multiple fixes, including addressing high usage during start-up and periodic audio processing during matches. It also corrected an issue where continuous audio device scanning resulted in random frame rate drops and fixed a bug that resulted in low frame rates at certain resolutions.

According to some Reddit users, the changes have largely been successful in improving in-game performance. Some gamers report substantial performance jumps, taking the game from a choppy mess with lows under 50 FPS to a solid 60+ FPS experience. While some users with older cards report isolated regressions, Arc System Works has promised that optimization will continue going forward.
