Intel Says It’s Ready to Fix Crimson Desert’s Arc GPU Issue

Gamers with Intel Arc graphics cards were stunned when the open‑world fantasy title Crimson Desert refused to launch, displaying a terse “graphics device is currently not supported” message. The game’s developer, Pearl Abyss, confirmed the lack of Arc support and urged affected players to request refunds.

Intel’s response came after months of outreach to Pearl Abyss, offering early hardware, drivers, and engineering support across multiple generations—including Alchemist, Battlemage, Meteor Lake (Xe‑LPG), and Lunar Lake (Xe2‑LPG). The company claims it has been working to validate and optimize the game for Intel graphics since the project’s inception six years ago.

In a statement to Wccftech, Intel said it remains ready to assist Pearl Abyss, noting that “getting games running smoothly is always a partnership between developers and hardware makers.” The firm highlighted its commitment to providing open tools, documentation, and direct engineering support for studios targeting the tens of millions of Intel GPU users.

The lack of Arc support at launch leaves a sizable segment of the player base without access to the new title, prompting refund requests. Intel’s continued willingness to collaborate signals a potential future patch, but until then, Arc users must rely on the developer’s current stance and the company’s promise of assistance.
