Intel unveiled the Core Series 2 processor at Embedded World 2026, targeting mission-critical industrial applications with enhanced real-time performance. The new platform features P-cores designed to handle safety-critical control systems and data processing simultaneously while maintaining deterministic timing. Dan Rodriguez, Intel's Edge Computing Group leader, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering breakthrough performance and reliability.

Core Series 2 addresses industrial challenges that force manufacturers to choose between computational power and real-time reliability. Compared to AMD's Ryzen 7 9700X, Intel's new processors deliver up to 4.4x lower PCIe latency and 3.8x better deterministic performance. These improvements eliminate the need for complex multiprocessor architectures, reducing both costs and system complexity for edge deployments.

Intel also previewed its Health & Life Sciences Edge AI Suite, focusing on AI-enabled patient monitoring. The suite demonstrates concurrent multimodal workloads including ECG arrhythmia detection and 3D visual tracking running locally on Intel processors. Available now on GitHub with general release planned for Q2 2026, the suite helps OEMs and ISVs evaluate platforms using real-world scenarios rather than synthetic benchmarks.
