Intel released its Arc GPU Graphics Drivers 101.8629 WHQL, introducing gaming support for the Arc Pro B70 and Arc Pro B65 discrete GPUs. These professional-grade GPUs, built on the established Battlemage architecture, now target gamers with minimal optimizations. The Arc Pro B70 becomes Intel’s largest discrete GPU for gaming, leveraging linear scaling of Xe2 cores to boost performance. Transitioning from workstation tasks like AI development, these GPUs aim to bridge professional and gaming workloads.

Known issues persist in select titles: *The Finals* (DX12) may crash intermittently, *No Man’s Sky* (VK) shows terrain corruptions, and *Star Citizen* (VK) fails to launch on some systems. Adobe Premiere Pro users might encounter export crashes with HEVC media on Windows 26200.7840+. For PugetBench benchmarks, Intel recommends raising the timeout slider to 1,500 seconds to avoid crashes.

Additional Intel Graphics Software bugs include crashes when resetting settings or rearranging metrics. The Performance Tuning beta, while experimental, may misapply changes in multi-GPU setups. These issues highlight ongoing stability challenges despite the driver’s focus on gaming.

This update signals Intel’s push into gaming hardware, but lingering bugs and limited optimizations suggest the Arc Pro line remains a niche play. For now, gamers may prioritize stability over raw power, while workstation users retain the B70’s AI capabilities.
