The dreaded 30 FPS rumors for GTA 6 appear true. Rockstar unveiled gameplay on Netflix, but didn't reveal the framerate, though it confirmed the game runs on a base PS5. However, the developer shared details with content creators visiting Rockstar North.

Head of development Rob Nelson told YouTuber and journalist Davy Jones of Flow Games that GTA 6 runs at 30 FPS on the console. Nelson couldn't confirm if a 60 FPS "Performance Mode" would be available at launch or later.

This may disappoint some, but it was strongly rumored that GTA 6 would be 30 FPS even on the PS5 Pro. Rockstar has a history here: GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 both launched at 30 FPS, with the latter still not receiving a 60 FPS update on modern consoles.

Whether GTA 6 will see a framerate boost on the PS5 Pro remains unknown, but it seems unlikely at this time.
