Fable Switch 2 Port Under Consideration by Microsoft

Microsoft is reportedly considering a Fable port for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, according to Windows Central's Jez Corden. The comedy-heavy fantasy game is slated for a multi-platform launch this autumn on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with development handled by Playground Games using their in-house ForzaTech engine.

A simultaneous launch across rival platforms is a major undertaking for the studio, best known for the Forza Horizon series. Their recent success porting Forza Horizon 5 to PlayStation 5 provides a precedent, though a Switch 2 version presents different technical and logistical challenges. The decision currently hinges on these logistical factors rather than development work, which hasn't begun.

This potential move continues Microsoft's multi-platform strategy, following Phil Spencer's comments about Nintendo's support for Xbox titles on Switch 2. It also reflects growing industry pressure on exclusivity. The final call on a Fable Switch 2 port will depend on whether the practical hurdles can be cleared for a future release.
