Epomaker Hack70 Teases Larger Ortholinear Keyboard for Beginners

Epomaker has teased the Hack70, a larger ortholinear mechanical keyboard following the HE75 V2 and F108 Pro V2. The keyboard aligns keys in a perfect grid layout, aiming to reduce finger strain and improve typing efficiency—though the latter remains debated. No official announcement yet, but an unboxing livestream suggests an affordable price point, likely similar to the Hack59 at $69.99.

The Hack70 features tri-mode connectivity (USB-C, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz), a plastic case with two-stage flip feet, and a polycarbonate gasket-mounted plate. It includes split space bars, a departure from traditional ortholinear designs, making the layout more approachable for newcomers. Hot-swap compatibility supports 3- and 5-pin MX switches, with default Creamy Jade switches installed.

Users can customize layouts using uniform XDA profile PBT keycaps. Per-key RGB is present but without shine-through. The keyboard will be VIA programmable via a JSON file, giving enthusiasts flexibility without requiring deep DIY expertise. Affordable ortholinear keyboards like the Hack70 could attract more users to this niche layout.
