Bungie's Marathon Update Rewards Co-op Play

Bungie has introduced the C.A.R.R.I. Protocol in Marathon's latest update, addressing player demands for more PvE content in the extraction shooter. The new system rewards both solo players and cooperative crews with CyberAcme Commendations, a currency that can be spent in the C.A.R.R.I. Armory for weapons, salvage crates, and upgrades.

Since Marathon's launch, the community has been divided between players who enjoy the PvP focus and those seeking more cooperative gameplay. The C.A.R.R.I. Protocol bridges this gap by offering bonus commendations when players extract together, while still rewarding solo completions. The armory features daily deals and a rotating selection of items designed to help new and intermediate players progress.

The update also introduces the Mercy Kit, a med kit that allows players to revive downed opponents and potentially turn them into allies. This feature leverages proximity chat, which now includes a new "toggle to open" function for easier communication. The C.A.R.R.I. Protocol will run through the end of Season 1, starting with Patch 1.0.6.
