Blue Uplink has begun shipping the TACCOM v2, a handheld, out-of-game VoIP radio whose frequencies exist only inside multiplayer games. Built for flight sims, space sims, and milsim titles, the device allows operators to tune to pre-defined frequencies to communicate without the chaos of open lobbies. To ensure clarity among thousands of players, TACCOM uses a Message Queue Protocol so transmissions are received in an orderly fashion.

The hardware is designed around an Espressif ESP32 on a custom board, connecting over Wi-Fi with no PC software or overlay required. The device features an OLED screen and machined aluminium buttons, including a rotary dial for tuning. The sound design is radio-authentic, complete with a roger beep.

The TACCOM is available in two editions: Wired at $99 and Wireless at $199. The Wireless edition features an internal rechargeable battery and can monitor up to four channels at once. Designed for longevity, every TACCOM is made to be repaired rather than replaced, offering deep customization through an online interface.
