Qualcomm unveils the entry‑level Snapdragon C platform, targeting laptops starting around $300. The chip packs up to eight Arm cores, a Kryo CPU, 2 MB cache, an Adreno A643 GPU, and a Hexagon NPU for light AI tasks.

Memory options include up to 16 GB LPDDR4x/5/5x, PCIe 3.0 NVMe, UFS 2.2/3.1, and a broad connectivity set. Qualcomm highlights LPDDR4x’s lower cost, a key factor for keeping the price point realistic in a market where DRAM and NAND are pricey.

In side‑by‑side tests, Qualcomm reports 24–67 % gains over Intel N250 on battery. Cinebench shows the largest uplift, with single‑threaded performance 50 % faster and multithreaded up to 67 % better. Geekbench, Speedometer and real‑world workloads also favor Snapdragon C, with efficiency gains of 106 % on Netflix, 68 % on web browsing, and 74 % on Teams calls.

The platform will soon appear in laptops from Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo, giving Qualcomm a foothold in the budget Windows‑on‑Arm segment. Whether its claimed performance and battery life translate into a truly competitive $300 laptop remains to be seen.
