ASUS has unveiled futuristic networking concepts at CES, headlined by the ROG NeoCore Wi-Fi 8 demo unit. Resembling a sci-fi icosahedron (20-sided die), this router previews the next generation of wireless connectivity. With Wi-Fi 8 standards not expected until 2028, the device remains a prototype, though it features 3 LAN ports and likely 8 antennas across three bands.

Alongside this, ASUS introduced ProArt networking gear: the PRT-BE5000 Wi-Fi 7 router and PQG-U1080 Ethernet switch. The ProArt router offers BE5000 speeds (4320 Mbps on 5 GHz) with dual 2.5G ports, while the switch provides eight 2.5G ports and two 10G SFP+ ports. These announcements highlight ASUS's strategy of using CES for early concept reveals, bridging the gap between current Wi-Fi 7 availability and future Wi-Fi 8 infrastructure needs for high-bandwidth professionals.
