Posting on the Anandtech forums, Kepler_L2 claimed AMD will introduce its own version of "Neural Lighting" with upcoming hardware. The leaker suggested the technology would likely be limited to RDNA 5 due to the heavy computational workload involved.

Regarding technical differences, Kepler_L2 proposed AMD's model should have direct access to raw game data like geometry and depth buffers, rather than relying on scene guessing, and suggested splitting lighting and shading into separate models instead of a single pipeline. However, the leaker stressed this reflects personal opinion, not an official description of AMD's plans. AMD has not confirmed RDNA 5 by name, with launch estimates ranging from mid-2027 to early 2028.
