AMD has issued a strong condemnation of Chinese notebook manufacturer Chuwi for mislabeling processors. The company modified Ryzen 5 5500U chips to falsely appear as Ryzen 5 7430U in BIOS, marketing them as newer products. AMD's statement, released in China, explicitly states this unauthorized behavior violates their agreements with OEMs.

Chuwi's deception extended beyond BIOS modifications to include product marketing with Ryzen 7000 series case badges. AMD emphasized they never granted permission for these practices, noting their "strict and legally-binding agreements" with partners protect brand integrity. The company condemned actions that damage consumer confidence in the AMD brand.

AMD has taken the situation seriously and reserves the right to pursue legal action against those involved. The company maintains clear regulations regarding product naming and labeling, stating unauthorized practices "seriously disrupt the normal market order and may mislead consumers." This case highlights AMD's commitment to protecting both its brand and consumer interests.
