Trump is being sued over a "brazen" scheme to sell access to his Truth Social posts for $100,000 a month, according to a lawsuit filed by The Intercept. The lawsuit alleges that Trump is privatizing official government information for personal profit.

"Trump is trying to enrich himself by privatizing government information that he has no right to sell," said Ben Muessig, The Intercept’s editor-in-chief. The suit notes that Trump frequently posts official announcements exclusively on Truth Social, including military actions and policy changes.

Beyond Trump, defendants include Natalie Harp and Daniel Scavino, who have access to his account and post on his behalf. The lawsuit claims Trump uses his platform to attack journalists while making them pay for information. Truth Social’s parent company reported $238.1 million in net losses in the second quarter.

Interim CEO Kevin Mc Gurn said the Truth API has signed up over 10 customers, primarily high-frequency trading firms, paying $60,000 to $100,000 monthly. The company plans to expand to cloud computing firms, news organizations, and retail investors.
