Prime Video's Neagley, a spinoff from megahit Reacher, gives Frances Neagley her own series. Now a corporate security pro in Chicago, Neagley (Maria Sten) investigates the death of her childhood friend Tommy (Jhaleil Swaby), who died on the L train tracks. Her probe leads to Echo Canyon Farm, a commune run by Lawrence Cole (Damon Herriman), and uncovers a pharmaceutical conspiracy involving a psychoactive drug. Neagley ropes in Renee Birdwhistle (Adeline Rudolph) and Det. Hudson "Rats" Riley (Greyston Holt), while befriending street kid Keno (Jasper Jones). The show starts sluggishly but picks up pace, delivering violent, escapist fare true to the Reacher universe. Alan Ritchson's Reacher appears in the opening scene. While the cult-leader portrayal lacks charisma and the psychedelic plot feels silly, the series mostly sticks to the successful formula and explores new ground for its lead character.

The series balances personal grief with action as Neagley confronts her haphephobia and avenges Tommy. Tyrone Benskin plays her dying father Calvin, and Joel Keller portrays her boss Gerald York. Though uneven in execution, Neagley offers fast-paced entertainment that should satisfy Reacher fans looking for more of this world.
