Firefighting Drones Deployed in Aspen

Seneca's drones carrying foam are heading to Aspen, offering night operation and remote piloting capabilities amid California's recent devastating wildfires. Six of the state's most destructive fires occurred in the last decade, with two in LA County within 18 months.

Wildfire suppression has traditionally relied on manual labor and slow-to-deploy traditional aircraft. Seneca founder Stuart Landesberg aims to supplement existing equipment, giving firefighters "the best technology in the world" to combat blazes more effectively.

Aspen Fire Department will receive a trailer with five drones that can be positioned near incidents. Fire Chief Andersen envisions permanent drone bases around the area, enabling immediate investigation when fires are detected rather than waiting hours for traditional aerial resources.
