2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV: Electric Range and MPG

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) enhances its daily usability with a significant electric range. Most of the time, it operates as a series hybrid, with its electric motors powering the wheels and sending excess energy to the battery. However, it can also function as a parallel hybrid at highway speeds for improved efficiency.

The RAV4 PHEV offers a combined output of 324 hp and features a third electric motor for rear-wheel drive. Its efficiency and all-electric range vary by trim. The SE and XSE trims deliver the best economy, rated at a combined 40 mpg and up to 52 miles on electric power alone.

The Woodland trim, designed for outdoor use, offers slightly reduced efficiency (37 mpg combined, 49 miles electric range) due to its all-terrain tires and raised ride height. The performance-oriented GR Sport trim, the most expensive at $48,500, has the shortest electric range at 48 miles and a combined economy of 36 mpg, owing to its larger wheels and sportier suspension.

Regardless of trim, the RAV4 PHEV aims to minimize trips to the gas station for everyday driving, prioritizing electric propulsion.
