Mikel Arteta has promised Arsenal starlet Max Dowman will receive playing time this season but emphasized minutes must be earned ahead of Tuesday's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie at Ipswich. The 16-year-old has been an unused substitute four times this campaign, most recently at Napoli, while gaining experience with the under-21s. Last season, Dowman became the youngest player to start a Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace and scored his first professional goal against Everton. However, with senior options like Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze, and Viktor Gyökeres available, Arteta could not guarantee a start at Portman Road due to the Premier League's 20-player matchday squad limit.

"Max will have his chance. He will have his minutes and he will have to earn them like anybody else," Arteta said. The manager acknowledged the need to manage Dowman's development amid a talented squad. Arsenal, last season's Carabao Cup runners-up to Manchester City, seek a fifth consecutive win to start the campaign. Bukayo Saka, who scored the winner at Sunderland, described a demanding week featuring away matches at Napoli, Sunderland, and now Ipswich, praising the team's resilience.
