An annoying notification glitch is affecting some iPhone users on iOS 27. The Settings app displays a red badge prompting an alert to “Activate iCloud Storage.” However, tapping the alert navigates to the iCloud storage purchase screen, and the alert does not disappear after dismissal.

The notification appears even when users already have plenty of iCloud storage, including those on a 2 TB family Apple One plan. Although Apple sometimes uses Settings to promote offers, such as Apple TV trials, or remind users about Apple Care warranties, this alert appears to be a mistake rather than an iCloud upsell.

The issue affects devices running the release version of iOS 27 and iOS 27.2. There is currently no obvious way to remove it. Some users have reported that signing out of their Apple Account and logging back in makes the alert disappear, but Apple may be able to resolve it quickly through a backend change.
